SAMI why the same old module upgrade it

B, 31 Jul 2022 that's why you wait 2 years before upgrading to new model Unfortunately even that doesn't mean much anymore.

omg samesung! why u do thiss, tousands of dollars for 1 y/o tech

I think that the periscope camera can be improved. The effective diameter is only 5.55mm, which leads to softness caused by diffraction. The S21 Ultra had 6.24mm, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ has 6.5mm. If they can't improve the effective diameter, then they could offer an additional periscope low light camera: A second periscope camera with the same lens, but with for example 4 megapixels instead of 10 and without a Bayer filter (due to the lack of a Bayer filter, the effective resolution is comparable with a Bayer sensor with more than 4 megapixels). The images of the two periscope cameras can be combined. This could really improve the low light quality of the periscope photos, though in my opinion the daylight quality is far more important. I rather would like to have a good 720mm daylight camera in a smartphone, but it seems that this is currently only possible with a bigger camera bump or with a retractable lens (I wouldn't mind a retractable lens).

Anonymous, 27 Jul 2022Unbelievable, how long will they stick with this cr@p, they are pulling the same cheap tactic ... more All phones go the iPhone way of things now. Years gone are the times of innovation and upgrades.

This is the last rumor-related comment I'm tired of this for about months, this is where keeping the old 10 mp which means no more keeping at 450mp and beyond.

We need a periscope of atleast 30x this time. Samsung better innovate.

Thats what happens when you rush out every release

George399, 27 Jul 2022 Same 2020 crap Unbelievable, how long will they stick with this cr@p, they are pulling the same cheap tactic of Google pixel phones.

What I want is. Same phone size, N20u S-Pen performance, the S22u S-Pen felt more like a downgrade. I want the GN2 50mp 1.4um Main F1.6, 12mp 1/1.7" 1.8um Ultra wide F2 or better. I want a 64mp true 3x optical and true 12mp 10x

Come on Samsung... make the S23 Ultra SO BIG that we need two hands to hold or a dedicated backpack to carry it!

Olympus Oms, 27 Jul 2022 So tele can't be used in pro mode, again. Nah, ultra simply isn't worth it anymore. Nah Tele can be used in pro mode

So tele can't be used in pro mode, again. Nah, ultra simply isn't worth it anymore.

Must upgrade to 20X telephoto

Anonymous, 27 Jul 2022Fixed focal length is not zoom. Definition is variable FL. Digital zoom is called digita... more I never called digital zoom as optical.

walkman8, 27 Jul 2022 When you stop striving for perfection, you might as well be dead. Well....dont strive for over perfection

T, 26 Jul 2022Samsung provides the best zoom in smartphones and you want even more? Go buy a telescope or b... more When you stop striving for perfection, you might as well be dead.

oio, 27 Jul 2022why couldn't they just bump the ultra wide sensor to like 30+ mp for 8k video i know 8... more 8k is not "kinda useless" it is just "useless" Instead, they should get a super steady video with OIS and improve the tele-zoom.

Anonymous, 27 Jul 2022Fixed focal length is not zoom. Definition is variable FL. Digital zoom is called digita... more And what did I just say? Digital is just cropped image, optical zoom is any time there are lenses involved to do the zooming. Does Galaxy S22 Ultra have lenses to do the zooming with periscope camera? Yes. Then it has optical zoom. You can call it hybrid optical zoom if you want if they do digital in between, but the fact is, there are moving physical lenses.
